Cookie & browser storage policy

Essential storage

Firebase Authentication uses browser storage for this program's separate sign-in session. New sign-ins last for the browser session unless you choose Keep me signed in, which persists until sign-out or clearing storage. The acknowledgment key vcp_workspace_storage_choice remembers the essential-storage notice choice until cleared. Account identity, security and purchase recovery are necessary for requested sign-in and paid service; cookie preferences do not grant a purchase or a main-site subscription. The main website's session and preferences are separate.

The sessionStorage key vcp_resume_entry remembers whether you chose account or guest until this browser session ends. Guests who start checkout receive a separate session-only Firebase identity; clearing it can remove access to guest purchases unless that session was converted to an account. This preference does not store a resume.

Optional local resume drafts

Remember my draft is off by default. Enabling it saves resume text and application context in localStorage under resume-studio-draft-v1 on this origin, bound to the program user when signed in. It persists until disabled, cleared or signed out. Use a private device. Clearing browser data erases unsaved local work. It does not delete Firebase data or downloaded files. Background fields are not automatically saved to the device or cloud.

Career tools storage

Career profiles, resume version history, application records and saved cover letters use explicit account Save actions and the private cloud-storage agreement. Unsaved tracker and letter fields stay in this tab only. The included AI career kit is kept with the private purchase for recovery after its separate AI agreement. Saving these items does not enable analytics or advertising. Usage analytics is a separate choice; unsaved career fields are not copied to local storage automatically. Sign-out clears their in-memory display; it does not delete saved cloud records. Delete those records in Career tools.

Stripe checkout

Choosing checkout opens Stripe's hosted payment page. Stripe may use essential cookies, local storage and device/network data for secure payment and fraud prevention under its cookie information and Privacy Policy. Our workspace does not embed Stripe tracking or payment scripts. We keep private purchase records on the server for recovery and accounting.

OpenAI and Anthropic

OpenAI and Anthropic are AI processors used through our server API, rather than advertising or analytics cookies in this workspace. Their API processing and retention terms apply to text you choose to submit. No OpenAI or Anthropic tracking script runs in this browser module. Refusing optional cookies does not prevent submitted text from being processed after your separate AI agreement. See the AI processing notice.

Optional usage analytics · off by default

With this optional choice, the isolated measurement document also sends batches of predefined event names, screen categories and coarse sources to our server. We store daily aggregate counts in Firebase for owner reporting. These totals contain no browser or session IDs, account or purchase IDs, names, emails, resume text, full URLs, filenames, interest answers, VA information or crisis-help activity. They are not a count of unique people. The server uses a transient salted network-address hash for rate limiting; it does not save that hash or an IP address with activity totals. Hosting providers may still process normal security logs. Daily anonymous totals are retained for trend reporting. Turning analytics off drops unsent batches and stops future counts; an individual cannot be identified or removed from earlier aggregate totals.

Choose Allow usage analytics in the app notice or Settings → Cookie & storage preferences to enable Google Analytics for this app. Choose Essential only to stop it. The main site's choices do not enable this app's analytics. Supported Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep it off. No analytics tag or measurement document loads before permission; refusing does not restrict the app.

With permission, localStorage keys vcp_resume_analytics_choice_v1 (choice, up to 180 days), vcp_resume_analytics_visitor_v1 (random browser ID, up to 90 days) and vcp_resume_analytics_session_v1 (session ID and coarse source, renewed after 30 minutes without measured activity) support general usage reports. The sessionStorage key vcp_resume_analytics_once_v1 holds hashes of already-counted checkout returns until the tab session ends or analytics is disabled. No resume content, filenames, account identifiers or raw purchase references are stored in those analytics keys. Google may also attempt session-only cookies with the vcp_resume prefix in the isolated measurement document; browser restrictions can limit those cookies.

We send predefined screen/action events, a random browser/session ID, and general timing/source information. Google receives normal network/device information. Names, emails, resume text, photos, job details, original filenames, VA calculator entries, interest answers, full URLs and crisis-help activity are excluded. The isolated tag cannot inspect the editor. There are no ads, heatmaps or session recordings. Read the analytics data notice and Google's Privacy Policy.

Turning analytics off removes this app's analytics identifiers and stops new measurement, without deleting account records, Stripe records, previous analytics or main-site cookies. Changing browsers or clearing the app's choice returns analytics to off until a new choice.

Change your choices

Use Settings → Cookie & storage preferences in the app to allow or turn off usage analytics. Turn off Remember my draft to remove its local copy; sign out to clear the program editor and program session. Keep me signed in controls future account persistence.
