PRIVACY & SECURITY

Your information.
Your choices.

Your saved resumes and profile are private by default. You choose when to use AI and what to publish on your Virtual CV.

How your information is protected

The app uses Firebase Authentication for sign-in. Private account records use account-specific access rules, and our server checks your identity before opening purchased resumes or assessing saved documents.

Information sent between the app and its services uses HTTPS. Firestore provides encryption for stored cloud data and TLS for database connections. These are platform protections described in Google’s encryption documentation ↗.

Our service and its providers process information to deliver the features you request. Authorized service operators may need access for support, security, or legal requirements. No online service can promise absolute security.

What stays private, and what is shared

When I upload or build a resume

PDF, Word and TXT imports are read on your device. This app does not upload the original source file. Extracted text stays in the editor until you choose a feature that saves or processes it.

Saving to your account keeps a private copy. Paid build recovery also stores the submitted text, job details, AI result and clarification answers after your agreement. Saving is separate from publishing a public CV.

When I ask AI for help

After your AI agreement, the relevant resume text, job details and verified answers pass through our server to OpenAI or Anthropic, as configured for the service. Those providers’ processing and retention terms apply. Canceling a request cannot recall information already sent.

Interest-check answers are scored on your device and are not sent to AI. Resume and profile photos are not sent for AI resume review.

When I share my Virtual CV

You choose sections, review a preview, and approve publication. Anyone with access to the published page can view or copy it. Publishing does not make your private resume library, purchases or full account profile public.

Use Virtual CV → Unpublish to remove the active public page. Deleting a private resume does not unpublish that separate snapshot. Copies or screenshots made by others may remain.

When I pay

Card details are entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout. Our checkout request sends purchase identifiers and pricing to Stripe, without your resume text. The app does not store full card details.

How I delete or export my information
  • My resumes → Delete resume: removes the selected saved document and its saved career assessment. Deleting one purchased template keeps other designs and the original build source.
  • Settings → Purchases & recovery → Delete data: removes that build’s submitted text, review, answers, generated career kit and automatic saved copies from the active database. Payment receipts and required accounting records may remain.
  • Virtual CV → Unpublish: separately removes the active public snapshot.
  • Account → Download my account data: exports the program records included in the app’s export. Contact support for a full export, older records or account deletion.

Deletion does not remove downloaded files, someone else’s copies, or records a processor must retain under its policies. See the retention and deletion details.

Optional usage analytics

Analytics is off until you allow it. If enabled, Google Analytics receives general screen/action counts using a random browser identifier, not your sign-in identity. Resume contents, filenames, private fields, VA calculator entries and crisis-help activity are excluded. The tag is isolated from the editor. There are no ads or session recordings.

Use Settings → Cookie & storage preferences → Essential only to turn it off and clear the app's analytics identifiers. Full analytics notice →

What happens on a shared device

Guest access and default sign-in normally last for the browser session. Purchased build data can remain stored for recovery after guest access ends. Keep me signed in and Remember my draft are separate choices. Remember my draft saves a copy in that browser; cloud encryption does not describe that local copy.

On a shared device, leave those options off, sign out when finished, and remove any downloaded files. Signing out does not delete saved account records.

Private app reporting

Only verified administrators can view app purchase reports. Stripe checkout records supply purchase amounts, promos and refunds. Consented app activity is stored as daily totals, without resume text, account IDs or browser/session identifiers. VA calculator and emergency-help activity are excluded.
